2017 roundup

I self-released 2 tapes on my own Expansive label, 2017’s full-length album Chilling in the Eye of the Storm, and a reissue of 2016’s Through the Portal.

I procured a LinnStrument and proceeded to get rid of all they keyboards in the house. This is the instrument I’ve been waiting for!

Split release with Brett Naucke on Hausu Mountain with very cool artwork (by Max Allison, Brian Griffith, and Dee Del Rosario). Vol. 9 in their Mugen series which is “solo sessions recorded live without overdubs”.

Outdoor Session 2 was released which, like the first, was improvised in my back yard. It’s a free download at Bandcamp. The great cover art was done by Hermann Holsgr.

A lot of collaborations took place this year.

I began playing live with global percussionist J Morales.

The Gaz Giant cassette with Christophe Bailleau on Sacred Phrases. “…glitched and oddly humid tonal floats through space…a fluid froth of percussive textures and aquatic, almost dripping synth notes.”

And a collaboration with Silentwave (Yoshinori Noguchi). A chill album, titled Snowscape, fitting for the weather at the time.
